Mini Review: Shotgun Wedding

Darcy and Tom gather their families for a destination wedding, but when the entire ceremony gets put on hold and Pirates take everyone hostage. Now, on their own they must do everything they can to save their loved ones -- if they don't wind up killing each other first.

Jennifer Lopez, Josh Duhamel, Jennifer Coolidge, and Lenny Kravitz

Following Jennifer Lopez’s fun, but flawed ‘Marry Me’ from last year. It wasn’t too bold to suspect another exciting film, alongside Josh Duhamel. Shotgun Wedding is decent, and most importantly original. Providing some really funny moments and dynamics between actors. Despite this, the writing overall is rather mediocre, relying more on the actors ability to carry scenes & starts to become lazy in its circumstantial direction.

Jennifer Coolidge is always great, delivering the cheapest of jokes in brilliant fashion. Along with the rest of the supporting cast that gets rather overshadowed by Coolidge & leads. The action wasn't outlandish or overly impressive, but it’s enjoyable and the leads compliment the action well with their great chemistry that felt consistent and lovable.

It’s not as interesting as I’d hoped it would be, both to watch and talk about. It can be rather uninteresting with directing and writing. But, Shotgun Wedding is at most, decent, not for everyone. The chemistry between Josh & Jennifer are a lovely driving force for the film and wouldn’t mind seeing the double join together again.
