The White Lotus returns with a bang & an extremely promising start. Following the fantastic first season full of twists and turns and storylines converging together in sweet fashion, fans of the first season have been eager for more. While following the same format, the fresh new unique characters introduced in this first episode is an extremely promising beginning for something even more special.
Jennifer Coolidge stole people’s hearts with her performance as Tanya, who was a lovely breath of fresh air in the craziness which unravelled in the first season. But here we find her in a possibly more complex situation involving her husband, as well as her assistant that she brought along. Whom seems to be an interesting enough character that I can’t wait to see more of, and how she fits into the overall story.
The wonderful Aubrey Plaza joins the cast, along with Theo James & 2 other actors I seem to be unfamiliar with, yet left a great impression. Four characters I’m much looking forward to uncovering, watching as these dynamics shift and explode inevitably. Each character is brimming with life, offering something new to explore further throughout the season. This, of course, applies to three other new characters played by the great Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli & Adam DiMarco.
This first episode was a breath of fresh air, after the intense yet incredible first season of House of the Dragon which concluded last week on HBO. While not as crazy as anticipated, the gorgeous visual style and witty dialogue, sets up what could be a year stealer second season. As well as perfectly setting up a plot that could unravel into madness.
